Game Overview

A Mortal’s Path to Immortality

A girl born at the bottom of a rigid spiritual hierarchy sets out to rewrite what the heavens have decreed for her. In Destined to Ascend, the climb from lowborn mortal to immortal cultivator is framed by secrets buried in her own origin, and the player decides how far she will go to uncover them.

World and Conflict

The setting is shaped by brutal sect hierarchies, ancient legacies, and spiritual beasts that inhabit a world few mortals ever survive entering. As she defies the heavens and carves out a legend, the cost of power becomes measured in betrayal, seduction, and the relationships she builds or breaks along the way.

Cultivation and Progression

  • Qi cultivation forms the backbone of character growth, tied directly to the choices the player makes.
  • Dao techniques can be forged and mastered, unlocking unique abilities and more powerful skills as the story advances.
  • NPC relationships are managed through branching interactions that influence the direction of the narrative.

Combat and Exploration

Encounters play out through turn-based combat against monstrous creatures and formidable foes, requiring tactical decision-making rather than reflex. Between battles, the story unfolds through text-based exploration, where critical choices define the protagonist’s future and gradually reveal the truth behind where she came from.

### 0.16
- v0.16
- Sect Dynamics: World rumors are now active. Minor sects can go to war.
- The Social Web: The NPC relationship grid and family tree are finally implemented. It was a massive headache to code, but it adds much-needed depth to the people you meet.
- Living World: You’ll now encounter new NPCs in crowds, sects, and the wilds more naturally. Interactions have been improved, and you can now engage with known NPCs without constantly diving into the Book of Connections.
- New Ventures: Introduction of the Journal system to track your path, along with the brothel/courtesan framework.
- Systems & Mechanics- Destiny & Constitution: Character creation is now more transparent; you can see exactly how each Destiny affects your stats. I’ve also introduced the Body Constitution framework, which ties directly into your chosen Destinies.
- Tournament Refinement: Matchmaking has been adjusted so you won't immediately face the top-tier powerhouses in the first round.
- Alchemy & Inventory: The Alchemy workshop has received a visual overhaul, and both the general and potion inventories have been streamlined for better usability.
- Visuals & UI- Readability: You can now see stat changes simply by hovering over a Destiny choice.
- Overhauls: Many locations and battle visuals have been updated. I’ve also partially redone the sex widgets and various UI elements to keep things consistent.
- The Image Struggle: I’ve added a new batch of images, but I’ll be honest-my AMD hardware is making local generation a nightmare. I spent far too many hours fighting with it this time around.
- Technicalities for the curious:- Refactored the indexing system for Realms and Stages for better backend stability.
- Fixed (hopefully) mission localization and those lingering inventory bugs.
